Homeless pets are an issue almost everywhere in the US, which is due to the over breeding of animals and lack of homes for them to go to. Many communities in Colorado are taking steps to support no kill shelters and to find these animals good homes without the unfortunate fate of euthanasia. The Colorado Pet Overpopulation Fund has lowered spay and neutering prices in hopes that this will reduce the amount of animals ending up in shelters. According to their website, more than 26,000 pets were euthanized in Colorado this past year – YIKES! The Pet and People Sitters crew believes that every animal deserves a loving home, and we will do anything we can to support the “no kill” cause!
Here are some great websites focused on supporting no kill shelters – and getting these animals out of these shelters and in to loving homes!
