We are so excited to be involved in this great event this year we just had to blog about it.
Goddard Early Education School has an event for Saint Baldricks cancer research. The event includes shaving heads and a silent auction of items donated by local businesses.
You see, after Haven, a student, had a battle with cancer, money and support desperately needed to be raised. Now 3 kids at the school have had their battle with cancer and it is absolutely heartbreaking. The event makes everyone aware of the problem, is fun, and really helps build moral. You can get involved by sponsoring a person or finding sponsors and shaving your head in support and for donations. Sam Morton the owner of the Goddard School has shaved his head every year and was the first to do so this year too.
This year there was record shaving involvement, they had 3 barbers busy for an hour or two. The whole shaving event is huge now and has certainly taken on a life of it’s own.
The first year they were able to donate $5,000.00 and it seems like about three or four people were shaved back then. Last year they were up to $16,000.00 and this year the event is up to $18,0000.00! Now that’s a lot of sponsorship and auction bids!
When Pet and People Sitters in Denver, Colorado discovered this event we jumped at the opportunity to donate a gift certificate and doggie treat package in support of Saint Baldricks cancer research.
We really appreciate all of active bidding on it, without all of the participation, this event could never be the success that it has become. Thank you!
